Cortical collecting tubule

A short, straight to slightly curved collecting tubule segment from the renal cortex, shown as a narrow to slightly wider pale pink-beige to light tan cylindrical tube with smooth outer walls and a clean, open round to slightly oval central lumen. The wall is lined by simple cuboidal epithelial cells with distinct cell borders and visible apical and basolateral surfaces, creating a smooth epithelial lining. The tubule has a relatively uniform diameter, appears simple and less coiled than other nephron segments, and is slightly wider than a distal tubule but narrower than a collecting duct.
