Collecting tubule

Straight to slightly curved renal collecting tubule shown as an isolated pale pink-beige to light tan cylindrical tube, relatively uniform in diameter and slightly wider than a distal tubule. It has a clear, open, regular central lumen and smooth walls lined by simple cuboidal to low columnar epithelial cells with distinct cell borders, pale cytoplasm, smooth apical surfaces, and centrally placed nuclei. The tubule appears less convoluted than other nephron segments and may be depicted in longitudinal, cutaway, or cross-sectional view, sometimes vertical, gently tapering, or slightly branching, with clean simplified contours.
