Fillet weld

A single fillet weld shown in cross-section at the inside corner of two perpendicular metal or steel plates forming a 90-degree joint. The weld is a triangular deposit of metallic gray metal with equal legs, a smooth slightly convex or nearly flat exposed face, and rounded toe transitions blending cleanly into both plate surfaces. The root is located at the corner, the fused edges are clearly defined along both legs, and the weld may show a subtle throat region or 45-degree throat line within the triangle. Overall appearance is a smooth steel-gray bead, sometimes with faint weld ripple texture.
