Cascode amplifier

Compact MOS cascode amplifier schematic in standard black circuit line-art, showing two vertically stacked n-channel MOSFETs in a tall narrow arrangement. The lower transistor is the common-source input device, with its gate as the input node and its source connected toward the bottom reference node or ground. The upper transistor is the common-gate cascode device, with its gate tied to a fixed bias node. The two transistors share a central drain-source connection and form a single vertical current path. The output is taken from the top drain node of the upper transistor, typically connected to a resistor load at the top supply. Use thin black schematic lines, standard textbook symbols, clearly drawn gate, drain, and source terminals, and enough spacing to emphasize the cascoded stack.
