Mosfet short channel

Flat 2D cross-sectional diagram of a planar short-channel MOSFET, showing source and drain diffusion regions placed very close together in a silicon substrate so the channel beneath the gate is notably short. A narrow rectangular gate sits above a thin gate oxide, with metallic contacts and layered semiconductor materials clearly visible. Emphasize the compact deep-submicron geometry with reduced source-to-drain spacing, using a neat technical cutaway style and muted semiconductor colors such as gray silicon, blue gate, tan or gold oxide, and contrasting source and drain regions.
