Sphenoid bone

It has a compact central body, broad greater wings flaring laterally, smaller lesser wings projecting superiorly or horizontally, and paired pterygoid processes descending inferiorly and ending in thin plates. The form is intricate and irregular yet broadly symmetrical, with angular ridges, thin bony plates, multiple projections, and distinct foramina or openings; sinus cavity spaces may be suggested within the central body.
