Pelvic inlet

Superior view of the pelvic inlet as an oval to heart-shaped bony aperture forming the superior opening of the true pelvis. Depicted as a pale ivory to off-white ring-like pelvic brim with smooth cortical edges and a continuous internal rim surrounding a hollow central opening. The aperture is broader transversely, slightly angled relative to the vertical axis, and may show a mildly indented posterior contour with a narrower anterior border. Distinct anatomical margins are formed by the sacral promontory posteriorly, arcuate lines laterally, and the pectineal lines with pubic crest anteriorly.
